date back to the early nineties, when a group of six friends started exploring Ljubljanica. First with a four-meter dinghy and an outboard tomos, we rowed straight back quite a few times :).
The first real boat
but we bought it in 1998. It was a six-meter polyester seagull, usually powered by a 4.5 horsepower tomos.
Ship or raft
Then we wanted something bigger and started building our raft. Ha, those were six 200-liter barrels over which the pallets were piled. Once, in rough water, we failed to bring it back to the home port, but we tied it to the shore as an emergency. When we came to look for it, the man on whose plot we tied it only said “is that yours over there?”.
The first barge
It was the legendary wooden ship Ljubljanski Zmaj I. We brought a real fishing boat from Venice and converted it into an inn. It was, you could say, the first modern wooden boat on the Ljubljanica.
Ljubljana Dragon II
but it is our present ark. This one also had a different purpose before, but it wasn’t fishing, it was a bicycle ferry on the Rhine.
